The Audi Q4 e-tron: A New Standard for Electric SUVs

When we think of electric vehicles (EVs), we often think of the forerunners such as Tesla. But the automotive industry is in full swing, and traditional manufacturers such as Audi are entering the world of electric mobility with conviction. A notable example is the Audi Q4 e-tron, an impressive electric SUV that not only offers power and performance, but also advanced design and groundbreaking technology. In this blog article we take a deep dive into the world of the Audi Q4 e-tron and discover why this vehicle is so exciting for electric mobility enthusiasts.

The Audi Q4 e-tron Design: A Visual Explanation

When you see the Audi Q4 e-tron, you immediately notice its impressive design. This electric SUV combines the characteristic Audi design with modern, futuristic elements. With its sleek lines and striking LED lighting at the front and rear, the Q4 e-tron is a visual statement of the future of mobility. Furthermore, the Q4 e-tron is available in both a standard SUV variant and a sportier Sportback version, so buyers can choose which design best suits their style.

Powerful Performance: More than Just Beauty

What makes the Audi Q4 e-tron truly remarkable is what's under the hood - or rather, under the floor. This electric SUV is powered by advanced electric powertrains, which provide a powerful and smooth driving experience. The Q4 e-tron is available in several power variants, ranging from the efficient Q4 35 e-tron to the impressive Q4 50 e-tron quattro, which offers all-wheel drive for maximum grip and performance. The acceleration is breathtaking, with the ability to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just a few seconds.

Impressive Range: No Fear of Long Rides

One of the biggest concerns with electric vehicles is often range. No one wants to get stranded on the road because the battery runs out. Fortunately, the Audi Q4 e-tron has addressed this problem. With an impressive range, drivers can take long journeys without worry. The battery pack has a capacity of 77 kWh, and thanks to optimized electric powertrains, the Q4 e-tron offers a remarkable range on a single charge. The exact range varies depending on the model, but some variants can reach more than 500 kilometers before needing to be recharged.

Charging with Convenience: Fast and Convenient

Charging is often a concern for EV owners, but Audi has optimized this aspect too. The Q4 e-tron can be charged quickly, with charging powers up to 175 kW, fully recharging the batteries in a short time. In addition, there is an intelligent route planner that prioritizes High-Power Charging (HPC) stations, making your charging experience even more convenient.

An Interior of the Future: Technology and Comfort

The interior of the Audi Q4 e-tron is a stunning combination of technology and comfort. A state-of-the-art infotainment system is combined with high-quality materials and spacious seating for a first-class experience. In addition, the Q4 e-tron offers advanced driver assistance systems, including Lane Departure Warning, Emergency Assist and Fatigue Assist, to ensure driver safety.

Conclusion: The Audi Q4 e-tron Changes the Game

In short, the Audi Q4 e-tron is not just an electric SUV. It's a powerful statement of Audi's commitment to electric mobility and a harbinger of the future of driving. With its impressive design, powerful performance, excellent range and advanced technology, the Q4 e-tron sets new standards in the world of electric vehicles. It is clear that with this vehicle, Audi will become an important player in the automotive industry's evolution towards sustainability and innovation. Are you ready to experience the future of mobility? The Audi Q4 e-tron is ready for you.

The updates:

More Power

One of the striking improvements in the updated Audi Q4 e-Tron is the introduction of the new PSM electric motor on the rear axle. This engine not only delivers more power, but also works with more efficiency. The base version with 204 hp, known as the Q4 e-Tron 40, will no longer be available. Instead, the updated range starts with the Audi Q4 e-Tron 45, with an impressive 286 hp. This power increase results in remarkable acceleration, with just 6.7 seconds required to go from 0 to 100 km/h, an improvement of almost two seconds.

The Audi Q4 e-Tron 45 is joined by the 45 Quattro, and the previous 50 Quattro is replaced by the new Q4 e-Tron 55 Quattro. The latter model has a system power of 340 hp and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds.

Extended Reach

While the battery capacity remains unchanged after the facelift at 77 kWh (net), the improved electric powertrain means the updated SUV can travel further on a single charge. The original Q4 e-Tron Sportback 40 had an official range of 532 kilometers, but the updated Q4 e-Tron Sportback 45 now has an impressive range of 562 kilometers.

Faster Charging

Charging has also been improved in the updated Audi Q4 e-Tron. The base rear-wheel drive model can still fast charge at 135 kW, but the all-wheel drive variants now have a fast charging capacity of 175 kW. Under optimal conditions, it only takes half an hour to charge the battery from 10% to 80% of its capacity. An intelligent battery protection function limits charging to 80% to extend the life of the battery pack.

For intelligent travel and charging planning, the e-Tron route planner in the updated Audi Q4 gives priority to High-Power Charging (HPC) stations. When the driver selects an HPC station as a destination, the system activates thermal conditioning to ensure the battery is charged as quickly as possible. In addition, the Audi Q4 e-Tron now features post-conditioning, where the car's thermal management system cools the battery if it exceeds a preset temperature threshold after driving or charging.

Improved Sportsmanship

Audi hasn't just focused on improving its electric powertrain; they've also rethought the Q4 e-Tron's driving dynamics to add more emotion. The suspension has been fine-tuned and a modified steering system has been installed to combine greater comfort and stability with a more enjoyable driving experience. The optional 15mm lowered sports suspension remains available for those looking for an even sportier ride.

Enhanced Features

The updated Audi Q4 e-Tron comes with improved features. MMI navigation, an electric tailgate and heated front seats are now standard, along with safety features such as Lane Departure Warning, Emergency Assist and Fatigue Assist. A notable addition, albeit not standard, is the active lane change function.

A New Sound Experience

For those who want to further personalize their driving experience, an optional "soundscape" is available for the updated Audi Q4 e-Tron. This unique "character sound" is designed to distinguish the electric SUV from other electric vehicles and, surprisingly, aims to strengthen the emotional bond between the driver and their Audi. This digitally generated soundtrack plays through two external rear speakers and two internal speakers in the rear doors, and adjusts based on factors such as vehicle speed and load.

The updated Audi Q4 e-Tron offers a compelling combination of performance, range and innovative features, making it an exciting option for electric vehicle enthusiasts in Belgium and beyond. With local production, it is now poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market.
