The BMW iX2: An Electric Revolution for the X2 Series

In March 2024, the new BMW X2 will make its debut, accompanied by an exciting addition to the BMW family, the iX2. While the BMW X2 will be offered with both gasoline and diesel engines, including the sporty flagship M35i xDrive, hybrid technology enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the announcement of plug-in hybrid options. But fear not, as the next generation of the X2 comes with an electric variant, which will logically bear the name "BMW iX2.”

The BMW X2 will hit the market in March 2024, concurrently with the introduction of the iX2. Initially, the lineup will only include the BMW iX2 xDrive30, but during the summer, the electric offering is likely to be expanded with the eDrive20.

What can we expect from the BMW iX2 xDrive30e?

The electric powertrain of the BMW iX2 closely resembles that of the iX1 xDrive30e. The system comprises two electric motors with a combined output of 313 hp and an impressive maximum torque of 494 Nm. This potent propulsion system is powered by a battery pack with a capacity of 64.8 kWh. The only downside of these batteries is that they eat into the cargo space a bit, offering 525 liters of available cargo space compared to the conventional BMW X2's 560 liters.

Performance and range are two crucial aspects of any electric vehicle, and the BMW iX2 xDrive30e certainly does not disappoint in this regard. This electric powerhouse accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 180 km/h. Thanks to an aerodynamic drag coefficient of just 0.25, the electric X2 can cover between 417 and 449 kilometers on a single battery charge.

BMW has incorporated numerous smart technologies to maximize the potential of the batteries. Think of features like adaptive regenerative braking and the handy Max Range function.

The BMW iX2 promises to be an exciting addition to the world of electric vehicles, and the launch in March 2024 will undoubtedly garner a lot of attention. Whether you are a fan of the X2 series or simply looking for a stylish electric driving experience, the iX2 seems to have all it takes to captivate you. Stay tuned because this electric SUV is poised to set a high standard in the world of electric mobility.
