Kia Unveils the Brand-New EV4: Available as both a sedan and hatchback

16 February 2025

Kia has surprised the automotive world with the unveiling of the EV4, a fully electric vehicle that will be available in both sedan and hatchback variants right from launch. With this versatile approach, Kia sets a new standard in the electric vehicle segment, catering to a broad range of consumer needs.

Innovative Design and Dynamic Style

The Kia EV4 is designed according to Kia's 'Opposites United' design language, a unique combination of elegance and dynamism. The sedan variant features a sleek, low nose and a long, aerodynamic silhouette reminiscent of sports cars, while maintaining a distinctly electric character. The hatchback variant, on the other hand, has a more robust and practical appearance, emphasizing versatility and everyday usability.

Advanced Technology and Powerful Performance

The EV4 is built on the advanced E-GMP platform, which also underpins other electric Kia models such as the EV3 and EV6. This platform supports both rear- and all-wheel drive, fast charging, and an impressive driving range. Battery options of 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh provide a range expected to be similar to or better than that of the EV3, thanks in part to the aerodynamic advantages of the sedan variant.

Modern Interior and High Comfort

The EV4’s interior exudes modernity and minimalism, with a strong emphasis on digital interfaces. A large central display integrates both infotainment and instrument panel functions, while essential physical buttons remain for climate control and audio settings. This ensures an intuitive and user-friendly experience.

Strategic Market Position and Competition

With the EV4, Kia enters a competitive segment dominated by models such as the Tesla Model 3 and the Polestar 2. By offering both a sedan and a hatchback, Kia appeals to traditional sedan enthusiasts as well as consumers who prefer the practicality of a hatchback. This smart market strategy enables Kia to compete directly with European and American brands focused on electric vehicles.

Availability and Expected Price

While Kia has yet to announce exact pricing and availability details, the brand's pricing strategy for previous models suggests that the EV4 will be competitively priced to appeal to a wide audience. More details regarding pricing, features, and performance are expected to be revealed during Kia EV Day on February 27.

With the introduction of the Kia EV4, available in both sedan and hatchback variants, Kia reinforces its ambition to remain a leading player in the world of electric mobility. The brand continues to focus on innovation, progressive design, and customer satisfaction.
