Chinese automotive company Zeekr, a subsidiary of the Geely Group, is on the verge of entering the European market after finalizing the last details for its expansion. With grand ambitions, Zeekr aims not only to become a dominant player in China but also in the United States and Europe, with the goal of surpassing Tesla and Nio.
Technological Innovations: New Developments by Zeekr
Following the introduction of their sedan 001, the Crossover X, and most recently, the sedan 007, Zeekr has been relentless in technological innovation. The company has developed several new technologies, including a fast-charging battery and a new charging station touted as the most powerful in the world.
Unveiling of the V3 Charging Station: Powerful Specifications and Enhanced Performance
Zeekr recently unveiled the new V3 charging station on its Weibo page. Although the exterior design seems to show few changes, the internal structure has been completely transformed. The peak power of this charging station has been boosted to an impressive 800 kW, an increase of 200 kW compared to the previous version. This is a remarkable achievement considering that the Tesla Supercharger V4 and the Ionity charging station can deliver a maximum power of 350 kW each. Fastned also achieves 400 kW, and 360 kW for fast chargers at Lidl.
Technical Aspects and Future Plans of Zeekr
While Zeekr does not provide much detail on the technical aspects of this new charging station, it is known that the current intensity has been increased from 250 to 800 amperes. It is assumed that this V3 charging point is equipped with liquid cooling, enabling the thermal regulation required for such high powers.
Additionally, Zeekr announced that mass production of these V3 charging stations will commence in the fourth quarter, with the first operational V3 planned for the first quarter of 2024. The company has ambitious plans to deploy 450 supercharger stations in China this year, with further expansion to 1000 in 2024. The current supercharger, launched in 2021, has a power output of 360 kW.
